How to Style a Console Table and Create a Luxury Entryway

A console table often creates the first impression of a home. The best styling feels intentional but still leaves useful surface space.

Start with the wall above

Choose one strong focal point, such as a mirror or artwork. This gives the display structure and prevents the smaller décor from feeling disconnected.

Add height on one or both sides

A table lamp, tall vase or plant can create vertical balance. Symmetrical lamps give a formal look, while one taller object plus a smaller grouping feels more relaxed.

Use a small number of objects

Two or three grouped accents are often more effective than many small ornaments. Vary the heights and materials while keeping enough clear surface for keys or everyday items.

Repeat finishes from the room

If your console has a gold or rose-gold finish, repeat that tone once or twice in the mirror frame, lamp or decorative object. Avoid matching every item exactly.
